Key Stage Three

All students follow a course that covers the main practical and technical aspects of English Language, gives them practice in Speaking and Listening for a variety purposes and gives them a wide experience of poetry, prose and drama. Students complete a number of coursework tasks in each year which assesses their progress in all these aspects.

 

 

 

Key Stage Four

The majority of students follow a course leading to two GCSEs in English Language and English Literature. Students complete a range of written coursework assignments in Language and Literature and a number of Speaking and Listening assignments for their Language coursework. Examination practice is embedded  throughout the course in preparation for the final examinations.
