Cyflwyniad – Introduction
Welsh is taught as a second language to all pupils in Key Stage 3 and 4. Key stage 3 pupils have 2 hours per week. At Key Stage 4 pupils decide to follow a full course or short course.

· Promote a positive attitude towards the Welsh language and culture
· Provide experiences that gives all pupils the opportunity to reach their potential in the language
· Develop pupils’ skills to use the language and communicate effectively
· Develop skills to understand the use of the Welsh language in the community

Clwb Cymraeg:
The department runs a lunch time club for years 7 and 8. Pupils have the opportunity to use the language while playing games, singing and having fun. The club is held once a week. The local Menter Iaith (Welsh Language Initiative) come once a fortnight to play games with the club members.
